Along the beautiful Stepped Pyramid \u2013the inspiration of the upcoming egyptian pyramids\u2013 we could admire the reliefs and paintings of several tombs open to the public and \u2013if we are lucky\u2013 explore\u00a0the interior of faraoh Unas&#8217; pyramid.<\/p>\n<p>Although it may not be easy securing a permit, we recommend to visit the Serapeum, one of the most \u2013if not the most\u2013 misterious places in Egypt. A tunnel complex where dozens of gargantuan sarcophagus are stored, supposedly used for mummification of sacred ox.
